"I tell people Singapore is the Lexus of countries," says David Martin, a U.K. citizen who moved to Singapore three years ago and now is general manager of the Marina Bay Financial Centre, a $2 billion office-and-residential project that is under construction in downtown Singapore. "Lexus could be the most well-made car out there, but it will never be as attractive as a Mercedes or BMW."

ちなみに今のところのMercedesはメキシコ、BMWはスコットランドということにしておきましょうか。インドとか中東とかアフリカのどこかに旅行したらまた変わりそうだけど。
ちなみに、シンガポールは現在在住外国人倍増１０ヵ年計画実施中らしい（具体的に何をするかは知らないけど）。今でさえ平均賃金は日本と同じなのに、技術のある外国人が増えたら、当然物価が上がって、むしろ移住するメリットが少なくなりそうで怖いんだけど（物価以外のところでattractするんだろうけど）。
まぁつまり、プール付きのcondoに日本の今のアパートより安く住みたいわ、ってことです（汗）。
